Mastering the Basics
Food, muscle, food noise and the psychology that finally makes the basics stick. No extreme diets. No starting over on Monday.

Boss at work. Mum at home. Eating it all at 9pm.
You know what to eat. You’ve known for years. You run teams, businesses and households, and you hit every target anyone has ever set you. Except the one with your body.
Monday you’re perfect
Smoothie, salad, no carbs after 3pm, gym at 5am.
Thursday, the pantry wins
One biscuit becomes the packet, because “the day’s ruined anyway”.
Sunday, start again
Shame, a stricter plan, a fresh start next Monday. Again.
This book breaks that loop. Not with more rules, but with the psychology and the basics that finally work together.
Three parts. Twelve chapters. One rule.
All-or-something beats all-or-nothing. Every chapter gives you an ideal version for good weeks and a minimum version for chaos weeks, so you never have to start over.
Part 1 · Inside
- You don’t have a knowledge problem
- Food noise, 9pm and emotional eating
- GLP-1s: a tool, not a plan
Part 2 · Out
- Calories count. You don’t have to.
- Protein: your muscle’s bodyguard
- Fibre and your gut
- Water, coffee and wine
- Sleep, stress and hormones
- Move: strength first, steps second
Part 3 · For life
- Progress without the scale drama
- Your InsideOut toolkit
- Supplements: worth it, or skip it?

My first ever book, rewritten from the inside out
I wrote the first version in 2021. It was correct, and it was missing the most important chapter. Since then I’ve coached 600+ clients, competed twice and rebuilt my own relationship with food. The book grew with me.
Hi, I’m Astrid.
I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian with 15+ years in clinical nutrition and coaching, a former physique competitor, and the founder of InsideOut Fit. Born in Venezuela, based on the Gold Coast, coaching women worldwide.
At 12, a stranger told me I was “so beautiful, but so chubby”. I signed up for a gym the next day. It took me about 11 years to rebuild my relationship with food, my body and training. I’m a dietitian, and it still took that long.
So I’m not writing this from a mountain top. I’m writing it from the trenches, right next to you.
“I am a high achiever in my career but, I couldn’t keep consistency with my fitness and diet… Astrid has taught me a different way of thinking about my goals. Consistency over perfection.”

What format is it?
A 57-page designed PDF (US Letter size; it prints well on A4 too). You get an instant download after checkout.
I’m not on a GLP-1. Is it still for me?
Yes. The GLP-1 chapter is one of twelve. Everything else, from food noise to protein, strength and sleep, applies whether you’ve ever used one or not.
I’m on a GLP-1 or planning to come off. Will this tell me how to change my dose?
No. Dose changes are always a conversation with your prescriber. This book covers the eating, movement and mindset skills that help you keep your results.
Do I need to count calories?
No. The book teaches a no-count approach with portions, plates, protein and structure. Counting is explained as an optional tool, not a requirement.
Is this medical advice?
It’s general education from an Accredited Practising Dietitian, not personal medical advice. If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have a history of an eating disorder, please work through it with your health team.
Stop restarting. Start mastering the basics.
