Nutrition + strength alongside medical care

GLP-1 Dietitian Support for Women 35+

A GLP-1 can change appetite and food noise. A dietitian can help you use that phase to support nutrition, strength, muscle, body composition and skills for long-term maintenance—without replacing your prescriber.

Medication initiation, prescribing, dose changes and discontinuation decisions remain with your prescribing clinician.

Who this support is for

This page is for women 35+ who are using, considering, reducing or have previously used a GLP-1 medication and want practical nutrition and training support around their medical care.

  • Your appetite is low and eating enough nutritious food feels difficult.
  • You are losing weight but want to protect strength and muscle.
  • You want to become fit and capable, not simply lighter.
  • You worry about hunger, food noise or weight regain if circumstances change.
  • You know a lot about nutrition but struggle to implement it during demanding weeks.
  • You want support with emotional eating, perfectionism or body-image friction that medication has not automatically resolved.

What a GLP-1 dietitian can help with

Adequate nutrition

Build manageable meals and priorities around your appetite, symptoms, preferences, training and clinical needs.

Protein + muscle preservation

Plan protein and resistance training in a way that is realistic for your intake and appropriate alongside your healthcare.

Strength + body composition

Use the weight-loss phase to support training, capability and the body composition outcome you actually value.

Food relationship + behaviour

Work on all-or-nothing thinking, food noise, emotional eating, fear of regain and the belief that smaller automatically means confident.

Maintenance skills

Practise meal structure, flexible decision-making and self-monitoring skills that remain useful if appetite or medication changes.

Real-world implementation

Adapt nutrition and training to travel, shifts, restaurants, family, business and weeks when perfect execution is impossible.

What changes for women over 35?

There is no single diet that every woman over 35 needs. But this life stage often makes priorities clearer: preserving muscle, training progressively, supporting recovery, eating adequately despite appetite changes and designing a plan that can coexist with a demanding life.

Weight is only one outcome. Strength, energy, fitness, body composition, confidence around food and the ability to maintain progress deserve equal attention.

Why medication does not replace nutrition or behaviour change

A quieter appetite can be a valuable window. It can make some choices easier. It does not automatically teach you how to fuel training, maintain muscle, navigate restaurants, respond to a difficult body-image day or manage the return of hunger without panic.

Smaller body. Same old story—unless we use the opportunity to build something different.
